A member asked:

What thyroid tests are most indicative of a thyroid over/under problem? i've had tsh, t4, t3, and reversed. are they all considered together, or does one of these indicate a problem more than another?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, TSH is the single most useful test. After that free T4 is the nex useful one, others are not commonly used. Wish you good health!
