A member asked:

On the addenbrookes cognitive assessment the patient is asked to write a sentence. the sentence requires 'proper grammar'. if the patient leaves off a period at the end does this still count as correct? technically a period is punctuation not grammar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Although you're technically correct we're not so much concerned with punctuation mistakes but concentrate on meaningful substance of the sentence that demonstrates that the person comprehended and executed the instructions despite grammatical mistakes.
