A member asked:

Is it safe not to wear a mask after the 2-weeks isolation period of a newly diagnosed ptb patient? when can s/he safely interact without the mask on?

Depends: 2 weeks is usually good enough. However, if it was smear positive with a large cavity than it may still be contagious. If it is resistant than a mask would be required for even longer. It is important to know if it is regular TB or resistant tb. Check with doc to know for sure.
