A member asked:

I bumped into something very hard with my stomach it's been 12 hours i have no symptoms no abdominal pain just tenderness when pressing on the area , could it be a ruptured spleen? would i know by now if it was serious?

A ruptured spleen is unlikely. Normal sized spleen is protected under the ribs and it would have a rib fracture to rupture the spleen. If you do not look pale and do not have dizziness on standing, you did not rupture your spleen.

Ruptured spleen causes severe symptoms and leads to shock. From your description you seem to have had abdominal wall contusion which will gradually get better. Use local heat. I think you will be fine.
