Infected: Painful lumps may be boils. Apply hot compresses for 30 minutes (off an hour) as often as you can. Do not try to pop them! See your doc in 2 days, to see if you need to have them lanced. If you have fever, rapidly increasing pain, redness of red streaks, please go the ER.
