What you have is pulmonary fibrosis from scar that could be due to various reasons and unknown. The effect may or not have affected the heart with the resultant AFib. If you know the exposure that may be responsible remove it. The Cardiologist would determine what to do but most likely put her on blood thinners to prevent blood clots from causing stroke. Do not look at what is happening to others.

The best resource online is uptodate.com. Spend the $ to get 1 month subscription or longer. The read all about Afib and Pul fibrosis and both. Neither of these conditions are rare and they may be related. Keep a good diary on how she is felling and BP if needed and keep in close contact with her Dr. She needs a pulmonary function test if not done. Is she smokes STOP. NOW.
