Some of your symptoms & relief from antihistamine+prednisone, pointing towards some kind of allergies that are yet to be diagnosed, go to an allergist for skin allergy testing, until then try to figure it out on your own in regards to consumption & exposure to any new things as well as old things, make a diary of your daily routine and symptoms, this will help you to figure it out if u r allergic.

I doubt that allergic reaction is the explanation for your symptoms. Prednisone may have suppressed some of the inflammatory process that is occurring. I recommend consulting either a rheumatologist or a specialist in infectious diseases for a thorough workup.
