A member asked:

I am suffering from constant tingling sensations in both feets, which generally gets worse during night. neurologist diagnosed it as rls but also suspects anxiety, even nerve conduction tests are normal. are tingling sensations possible in anxiety ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Transient tingling secondary to hyperventilation, secondary to anxiety, can occur. But chronic tingling which fluctuates during day and night is most likely secondary to neurological mechanisms. Nerve conduction studies cannot rule out small fiber neuropathies, or vascular flow variations. Discuss further steps with your neurologist, and see psychologist regarding anxiety.
