That symptom is more likely from L2-L4 spinal stenosis.

Your knees may be stiff, achey, and even swollen but will not buckle or collapse per se. But if lumbosacral stenosis is advanced, it would not be unusual to experience "neurogenic claudication" which would occur while walking. This could eventuate in significant disability, and is a consideration for potential decompressive surgery.
