Hand-to-hand and hand-to-mouth are exceedingly low risk, probably zero risk, for the HPV types that primarily infect the genital/anal areas. The risk may be higher for the HPV types that typically cause hand and foot warts, but these are uncommon on the hands of adults; it is primarily a childhood infection. But yes, babies can be infected with maternal HPV, causing respiratory papillomatosis.
