During breastfeeding, the woman's body produces specific hormones related to lactation which can interfere with ovulation. the menstrual cycles can occur even though ovulation is not occuring. Without ovulation, there can be no getting pregnant. If you are trying to get pregnant, you will need to stop breastfeeding. Occasionally even breastfeeding women can conceive.
