Yes: Breast-feeding does prevent ovulation, and if you do not ovulate, you can't get pregnant...But not always! the issue with breast-feeding is the absence of menstrual periods, which can help women plot their cycles for birth control. Yep, one egg can sneak through, and bam -- lots of plans have to be reworked! contraception is a must during nursing: condoms, iuds, or other hormonal choices.

Be patient: Breastfeeding can be looked at as your body giving itself a pit stop by delaying the pregnancy.

If breastfeeding can u get pregnant?

Yes; but ...: In the third world if you are continually breast feeding it alters your internal hormonal balance so it makes it difficult for you to ovulate and thus get pregnant. But if you stop for even a short time, then you may get pregnant again. It's kind of nature's way of telling a woman's body not to get pregnant while she is breastfeeding. Neat, that way.

Yes: Breastfeeding can stop ovulation, but this is highly unreliable.

once you cut down on the brest feeding to 1-3 times per day it is possible to ovulate and get pregnant before you would ever have a period, if you are breast feeding multiple times per day then that almost always should inhibit ovulation but you are still supposed to use birth control
