If the kid can swallow liquids now it has made it to the stomach & will likely pass through in the feces in 2-4 days. If the wrapper was intact, the material within may not be absorbed. If part of fully open the med would enter the system as if it were given rectally. If the kid cannot swallow water it is caught in the throat & deserves an ER visit.
