How long does it take to get your taste buds back after a scaling n planning? for 3 years i wasn't sure if i tasting tarter, calculus, pus , bacteria or a combination of them but it sure sucked!!?

I assume your sense of smell is intact. Did you have extensive mouth inflammation or infection & did you have to take a prolonged course if strong antibiotics or other potent medications which may have played a role in distorted taste. Does your dentist have an opinion about this? You could be evaluated at the department of oral pathology at a dental school near you.
