This is one of the know side effects of using steroid creams. Discuss with child'd Dr. Needs to be used over a pretty good sized area to be a problem usually. This can be a problem with the most potent steroids. Go to Drugs.com and look at specific preps they are taking and any other drugs being taken as some can speed up or slow down the metabolism of the steroid being used.
