Risk modifications: Assuming your reduction in ef is due to heart muscle damage from coronary obstructions, the damage is done. The focus should be on preventing coronary disease progression by risk factor modification ( diet, lipid management, hypertension treatment, diabetes treatment, no smoking, etc.) if you still have areas of the heart where the muscle is alive but not functioning, opening the vessels helps.

Meds and Lifestyle: Your ejection fraction (ef) is just below the threshold of normal at 50%. Likely this is due to a small amount of damage with your coronary atherosclerosis that required a stent. You need to take your clopidigrel (plavix) as well as Aspirin if you are not allergic to limit clotting in your stent and thus further damage. You cannot "make new heart muscle" but exercise and weight control can help.
