IIRC you are being treated for your periodontal issues with deep scaling and root planing to remove the hardened subgingival calculus. Once completed and with proper home care, following the directions of your treating dentist, any infections should resolve on their own. Needless use of antibiotics is not recommended, but if necessary your periodontist will prescribe the necessary meds.
