The primary infection of any of the dozens of HPV strains can clear in most people because their immune system does fight it, but the germ is not gone, it just moves into hibernation. That strain may never reactivate, but it may. Those strains associated with cervical cancer can wait decades before eventually triggering pre-cancerous changes.

Anything can happen in medicine. The immune system can do that. But I would suggest you use precaution before next exposure. Good luck
