Define worry?? Pap smears were around and helpful long before the relationship with some strains of HPV and cervical cancer were known. There are still occasional cases of this cancer where no past HPV was detected. You could play the favorable odds & stop pap tests and likely not have a bad outcome. I doubt I would suggest this course to any of my family.

Follow your gynecologist's advice about how often to have a pap smear, but I would assume that you won't need the high risk HPV test anymore given your history.

Please continue to get PAP smears as advised by your doctor. After three negative results you doctor may reduce the frequency of testing once every three years rather than yearly. Wish you good health!
