A member asked:

Total bilirubin 2.0, .3 direct, and 1.7 indirect. ast 21 and alt 28. i have celiac. bilirubin was similar 3 months ago, alt dropped from 52 to 28. still symptomatic with nausea/belly pain despite gluten free. are these bilirubin levels normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your bilirubin is slightly elevated, however the data you provided is not sufficient to ascertain the cause. Wish you good health!
