A member asked:

I have a hole in my nail from nail pitting, and its causeing me alot of pain, i was wondering if there are any ways to relieve the pain, the pain is throbbing, hot, and a stinging/burring sensation?

I assume there has been no injury or blood collection under the nail. Throbbing and a hot feeling signifies inflammation and concern for infection. I recommend seeing a physician for evaluation and advice. In the meantime take Tylenol or ibuprofen. If not infected, apply ice.
