A member asked:

Can you have ovulation like discharge if you are pregnant, at the time that you would actually ovulate? i've had 3 periods but i am worried it is decidual bleeding (how rare is that type of bleeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you are pregnant you will not ovulate again and therefore cannot have an ovulation associated discharge. An increased discharge is common in pregnancy but is not related to any sort of continuing cycle. Likewise if you are pregnant you can have bleeding for a variety of reasons but that never represents a true period even if the pattern seems similar. "Decidual bleeding" has no clinical meaning
