How long can you safely be on a beta-blocker? i started 50mg atenolol at 19 (bp was 180/80) and am currently 27, but have been noticing increasing side effects (fatigue, palpitations, exercise intolerance). i have no other life-threatning ailments?

You may need your dosage titrated, or your medication changed. Return to your prescribing Physician. Evaluation by Cardiologist may be indicated.
