A member asked:

Good evening doctors. i seem to frequently get blood in my saliva, often the evening. no cough. i am not coughing up blood-it seems to be in my saliva/sputum, and then goes away. i am not diabetic. i do have gum issues. what do you think?

I think your gum problem may be the cause of your bleeding problem Bleeding gums are a sign of gum disease, and immediate intervention may bring it under control. As your current oral hygiene program and dental recalls may be ineffective, it's time to see a gum/bone specialist, a Periodontist.

I think you've already answered your own question. See a periodontist to evaluate your gingival health. Apparently you need treatment to bring your gingiva back to optimum health.
