On countdown to menopause been 9 months no period. then this month i got symptoms my period was going to come. egg white mucus bloating etc. sure enough i had 3 days of scant spotting. does this count as a period?

This episode has the characteristics of benign uterine spotting in a menopausal woman. I would expect more than spotting with a polyp or more serious pathology. Nevertheless, since 9 months went by without any spotting, I would report this event to your gynecologist to get reassuring advice or any instructions.

hormonal changes at this age can cause such symptoms and it may be a period. Your best bet is to be under care of a Gyn. good wishes.
