During herpes outbreaks, the lesions may itch. But herpes does not cause itching as the only symptom and is not the explanation for what you are feeling. Also, herpes symptoms always are intermittent and never last more than 10-14 days, and outbreaks occur no more often than once a month. HSV never causes continuous symptoms. Beware of HSV blood tests: they often are very unreliable.

generally HSV causes small painful blisters on inner labia/ vulva which heal and recur periodically. Good that you are getting tested. Itching is generally not caused by it. Use cortisone cream till you see your MD. Good luck
