Hi doctors. my 5 month old is moving her head side to side left to right fast it scared us. is this normal at this age? it was something new shes never done. my wife was putting her to sleep and she did that. doesnt seem sick or anything?

It is difficult to answer without seeing this in action and having her full medical history and an exam. If this is a repetative event, try to catch it on video & take that with you for an in-office exam. Some kids that age can do unexpected movements to entertain themselves, but there are other issues that can emerge that may be worrisome.
