A "faint line" on a home pregnancy test is not definitive, but if your period is delayed, obtain a serum HCG test, as it is accurate for low levels of pregnancy hormone.

You may testing too soon. It takes about three weeks from the time of fertilization of the egg to production of enough HCG for a positive test. You may get a blood test in 5-6 days or do a urine test in a 7-10 days, unless you get a period by then. A negative result on a test done too early, does not exclude pregnancy. Wish you good health!
