Sleeping in the: fetal position is similar to slouching forward in a ball, and can put pressure on your sternum. If you are having lingering pain, or problems taking full breaths, you need to see your PCP and have it evaluated. ALso, you can get a second opinion from a neuromusculoskeletal medicine specialist (DO-doctor of osteopathy) to rule out musculo skeletal reasons, and your ribs components.
