Needle from one with a disease or unknown ? Testing for what conditions were done? In the healthcare setting where this happens there are protocols that advise testing at regular intervals up to 6 mo or a year after exposure. There are several forms of hepatitis/HIV and other conditions they look for. I would share your concern with your doc.

The baby should have the AAP recommended vaccinations, including Hepatitis B. Please discuss a follow up test with your physician.
