This is now considered a commensal and normally present in some women in the uterus. It is of vey low infectivity. Take the usual precautions when you have sex and you should be alright

Ureaplasma species -- both parvum and urealyticum -- are normal bacteria in the genital tract. The American STD Association and its counterparts in other countries advise against including such tests in routine STI screening; or if such a test is done and positive, ignoring the result. At any point in time, up to 50% of people your age test postitive. No treatment is necessary or recommended.

In over 50 yrs of practice, with both in-patient and out-patient cases, have never heard of, or encountered a case of bacterial meningitis secondary to this organism.
