A member asked:

A 50 year old male with alcoholic liver disease has no cardiovascular disease prescribed with aspirin and clopidogrel. is it ok to take aspirin and clopidogrel with no cardiovascular disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I certainly can understand your concern about taking those 2 antiplatelet meds in the absence of history of coronary artery disease or prior ischemic stroke. Low dose aspirin alone can possibly be helpful in preventing liver fibrosis In nonalcoholic fatty liver disease though. I'm unsure of its role in alcoholic liver disease & would defer to the hepatologist or gastroenterologist here.
