A member asked:

My mother inlaw just told me that earlier she was baking a cake with my daughter and let her lick some of the cake batter off the spoon. should i be concerned about food poisoning/salmonella? just worried but am not sure if i should be. thanks?

No. If the cake was from a fresh, unopened cake mix and the spoon was clean, than no poisoning.

What is done is done. You may watch your daughter for any symptoms like stomach ache, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. If she gets such symptoms, it would prudent to consult her pediatrician.
