A member asked:

I have tapeworms or some kind of white long worm that is smooth and not fragmented but can be torn coming from my stool every few often. how do i treat this and how can this have happened?

All treatments for this issue would require validation of the type of worm if it is one. Treatments are selective to the agent involved. Assessment of a stool sample in a lab will guide treatment. If it is a worm it most likely entered your gut in a food item.

Best to start with your doc with a thorough history and a focused exam. At a minimum a stool sample for ova and parasites will be needed in order to substantiate a diagnosis.
