When was your last bowel movement? Was the stool hard? Your symptoms could be related to constipation-perhaps you are not having frequent enough bowel movements and/or the stools are hard, making it difficult to pass the stool. An over-the-counter stool softener may be helpful so ask your doctor or pharmacist. If the problem persists, seeing a GI doctor may be needed. Good luck to you!

If constipation is the underlying cause of your symptoms - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
