My dad is age 70. he has left flank pain, blood in urine, constipation. his pcp prescribed cipro (ciprofloxacin) even tho urinalysis came back neg for wbc.help!?

See a urologist. : For now, i would not discontinue the medication as prescribed, as there might be other information that indicates infection. Hopefully a urine culture was sent, which will confirm the diagnosis. Blood in the urinary tract should be evaluated, however, and i recommend seeing a urologist who can perform a full evaluation with history, physical exam, and urine testing.
