Do you sleep on your side? If so, can you determine which side you mostly sleep on and correlate that with the numbness? That is, does the right side of your head feel numb after you sleep on your right side (and vice-versa)? Perhaps you should try a different pillow or try not to sleep on your side for a while and see if the numbness goes away! Best of luck to you!

You don't mention how long the numbness lasts after awakening. Numbness occurs if sensory nerves get pinched,danaged or if they become inflamed. If your facial numbness clears rather shortly after awakening & never occurs other times, you're dealing with pinching nerves by sleeping in certain positions. If numbness occurs different times in different parts of the body consult a neurologist
