A test 3 to 5 days after exposure is usually sufficient. If symptoms develop, then re test. In the meantime monitor temperature and breathing. Avoid contact with immunocompromised and elderly individuals for the next few days. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and cough.

Testing after exposure is based on time and symptoms. Testing at 5 days after potential exposure and/or as soon as experiencing symptoms compatible with infection should be done. There might be specific institution/ state based requirement based on local activity and your type of job that will have to be followed in order to return to work.

If any symptoms appear than test again. If none after 10 14 days than take a PCR TEST for the best results.
