A member asked:

Can someone explain what convergence and accommodative spasm in eyes means please. i have been suffering with ptosis alternating between eyes and now they want to check for this. what does it mean if i have these is it serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Convergence spasm is involuntary turning inwards of the eyes & is quite unusual.. Accommodation spasm is when the eyes continue focussing on only near objects making seeing distant objects difficult. Stress & other psychoactive factors can be a factor in these disorders. Brain pathology also causes them. Your neurologist or ophthalmologist can advise you further.
