Time for a visit: If you were not born with ptosis, it is time to have it evaluated. There are treatable conditions where this can occur & the more time you ignore it the harder it may be to treat.

Diagnose, then treat: First, you have to find out whether this is excess skin and fat in the upper lids or actual ptosis, where the lid margin is positioned abnormally low on the eyeball at rest. The treatment differs for the two conditions. You need to see a board certified plastic, facial plastic or oculoplastic surgeon to differentiate the two and develop a treatment approach. Good luck!

Myasthenia gravis: If your upper lids stay up in the morning and start getting more droopy in the afternoon, a disease called myasthenia gravis maybe the cause. Consult your physician or ophthalmologist to confirm it. There's medcation for it.
