Exercise that doesn't involve friction or strain at the groin should be tolerated. This would include moderate walking and swimming. Unfortunately, in my experience, once you have epididymitis, the epididymus doesn't like to be messed with thereafter and can remain tender in some cases. Your urologist can advise you best.

If it is acute -with swelling, redness and pain then you need scrotal support and rest. Often scrotal area pain is misdiagnosed as epididymitis. In that case wear a good support and do those activities.
