A member asked:

Is there anyway to have and endoscopy without having to be put under general anesthesia? what are my options?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many ENT physicians perform an "office endoscopy" without anesthesia via a thin endoscopic device threaded through the nasal passages. It is not completely comfortable, but allows for upper esophagoscopy to determine degrees of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).
