I get anesthesia when i get a colonoscopy or endoscopy. can that anesthesia cause dimentia?

There are a lot of factors that contribute to dementia and exposure to medications by itself is likely not the sole cause of dementia. Whether the anesthesia you are receiving would contribute to dementia would depend on the exact meds given, the amount of time exposed per procedure, frequency of exposures/procedures, etc. Speak to the anesthesiologist about your risk factors. Dementia refers to a progressive loss of cognitive function due to a number of neurodegenerative conditions. Am not aware of any cases of progressive encephalopathy associated with routine gastrointestinal procedures. Not clear what problems you possess that prompt your query.
