I was having cough for 4 days went to pulmonologist, chest x-ray is normal. he prescribed roxithromycin, montelukast sodium, desloratadine and a cough syrup. cough is improve but whenever i eat anything i cough too much aftr that and vomit clearsputm?

Suspect you have common cold and it will take a while to get better. Some will take 14 days to get better but others may be over it in 2 weeks. Time will tell.

The cough may be related to bronchospasm. The response to allergy medication and the antibiotic is encouraging. Try a soft diet and warm soothing liquids to avoid throat irritation. If the cough lingers more than 10 days or is associated with fever, please see a physician.

Cough triggered by eating sometimes is due to aspiration of solid food or liquid which could be due to incomplete closure of the epiglottis (the lid which prevents food and liquid from entering the trachea (large windpipe)). See an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat Dr who can visualize the function of the epiglottis with a scope through the nose. A swallow study (X-rays) might also be needed
