A member asked:

I get palpitations regularly. ive been prescribed ritalin for my adhd after my bp, ecg & blood tests all came back normal but im nervous to start taking it because i worry about heart side effects (i am also a hypochondriac) am i overreacting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your choice. Ritalin is a first cousin of methamphetamine (speed) which works in the brain of those with ADHD to increase central vigilance & focus on task. If your system has been cleared for use, it can certainly be a good thing to try. Effects are dose related, meaning low dose=less, high=more. Work it out with your doc.
