"Depo shots" as a contraceptive measure are in excess of 94-96% effective, but ovulation can occasionally occur spontaneously, with some light withdrawal bleeding associated. Pregnancy is statistically very unlikely but can occur. If other symptoms occur (breast tenderness, nausea, etc), obtain a serum HCG test to be certain.
