Best would be to obtain a second opinion as to the cause of the chest pain. Structural defects at birth can change, so another pediatric cardiologist might be appropriate. Some chest pain can also derive from inflammation of the lining of the lung cavity or thickened mucus from a recent upper respiratory infection ( "pleurisy").
