A member asked:

Is topical isotretinoin (a cream, not accutane pills) a good alternative to topical tretinoin for long-term use as anti-age, anti-photodamage and overall skin maintenance? what may be the difference in terms of efficacy and side-effects?

Tretinoin is used to treat mild to moderate acne, but it's also used to treat age spots, sun damage, and wrinkles. Isotretinoin is prescribed for severe acne. It does not improve signs of aging or hyperpigmentation.
