A member asked:

I own a 2 family home, if my upstairs tenants get covid even though we have no in person contact at all, could it still be transmitted to my family, say through the heat vents while the heat is blowing through? i'm very concerned about 93 y/o mom?

It is unlikely to be transmitted through the air ducts. Consider filters, avoid contact, wear a mask in public and avoid crowds. All eligible members of the household should receive a Flu and COVID-19 vaccination. Stay well

Covid is transmitted by aerosols or droplets in the air. The virus would be destroyed by the heat in vents and doesn't travel far. Stay away from people you don't know, wear a mask and get vaccinated and boosted.
