Can advanced lymphoma cause rectal bleeding; then not be found on a colonoscopy?

Treatment for lymphoma may result in low platelet count that could result in rectal bleeding without a visible lesion on the rectum.

Was the blood red, which would come from the colon or mahogany colored which would most likely come from the terminal small intestine and be missed by colonoscopy? Colon involvement by systemic lymphoma is very rare.as it's a hematologic malignancy.
